Paddlers racing in a Tour de Paddle event

What is the Tour de Paddle?

The Tour de Paddle is a series of local races co-presented by the Minnesota Canoe Association (MCA), Endurance United, and the Loppet Foundation. It runs throughout the paddling season and is designed to recognize both performance and participation.

How it works

  • Attend any participating race on the calendar.
  • Results are tracked across the series for individual paddlers.
  • Points and recognition are awarded for performance and participation.
  • End-of-season shout-outs and awards highlight a variety of achievements.

Scoring

All finishers earn 10 participation points. Performance bonus points are awarded within each race category based on category size.

Participation Points

Every finisher: 10 points

Performance Bonus (Per Category)

  • 1 boat: +0
  • 2–3 boats: 1st +3, 2nd +1, others +0
  • 4+ boats: top ~10% +6, next ~10% +4, next ~10% +2
Points are tallied per paddler across Tour de Paddle events with posted results. Hoigaards races use a 0.50× Tour points multiplier.
