Minnesota Paddling Championships are to be held Sept. 14th and 15th, 2019. On Saturday the pro tandem and standard tandem canoe and kayak races will take place. The pro race will have two categories, male and mixed. The standard race will include age categories similar to the Snake river event. Youth (14 and under), Juniors (17 and under), Open (35- 100 combined), (101-129), (130-159), (160 and over).
Special recognition will be given to wooden boat participants. The Awards ceremony will take place at the Keg and Cork.
For those just wanting to enjoy a scenic paddle on the Mississippi a photography category is included. Photos must be taken during the event and must be taken from the canoe. Photos will then be submitted after the event either electronically or through the mail.
Registration will be at the Home Place, 524 Paul Bunyan Dr. on Saturday at 10 AM. Race start 11:30.
Sunday’s solo race on the 15th will include canoe, kayak and paddleboard categories, there will be standard and pro categories in the races. Age groups will be 14 and under, 17 and under, 18-49, 50-64, 65-74, 75+. The Women’s tandem race will be held at the same time with age grouping the same as Saturday’s races. Registration will be at the Home Place at 9 AM, race start 10:00. Awards ceremony will be at the Home Place at 12 PM.
$ 40.00 tandem, $ 20.00 solo. $ 20 tandem and $ 10 solo for youth and juniors
